Good-bye North Slope

After considerable thought we decided not to return to the North Slope for the 2008 school year. It was a very difficult decision and we will certainly miss the community, our friends, and the unique lifestyle we enjoyed living in the severe arctic.

I have accepted a position with the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District teaching science and physical education at North Pole Middle School, a mere 20 minutes drive from our home in Salcha, Alaska.

We'd like to thank all the communities of the North Slope for their wonderful hospitality, friendship, and openess that was shown to my family - especially the teachers and support staff that gave 110% each day.

Thank you all for 7 wonderful years!
